A desktop workflow often relies on wide tables, persistent navigation, and multiple visible controls. Shrinking those elements does not automatically make the workflow usable on a phone.

Start with the action a person needs to complete. Keep labels readable, touch targets comfortable, and important actions reachable. A modal should have a predictable scroll area and a footer that remains accessible.

Test at the screen sizes people actually use. Long names, validation messages, and enlarged text reveal layout problems that an empty design can hide.
